Become An Athlete

Know someone who’s over eight years of age and wants to become a Special Olympics Florida – Duval County athlete? Step One: be sure to check the Athlete Eligibility. Step Two: completely fill out our Medical Form and Consent/Release Form. Step Three: fax completed forms to (904) 241-5241. Finally: let us know which sports your athlete is interested in by checking out our Sports pages!

  • If you need assistance getting the Medical Form filled out by a medial professional, we can help. Through the partnership of Healthcare Clinic at select Walgreens, we can provide you a voucher to receive a free sports physical at a location near you. Request a sports physical voucher.

Become A Sponsor

Our program is made possible by generous donations made by local businesses, individuals and family members. If you’re interested in being one of our Sponsors, please contact us or read this: 2015 Sponsorship Opportunities to learn more about our sponsorship opportunities. Without you, our programs would not be possible!

Become A Volunteer

Our volunteers are coaches, mentors, day of volunteers, office assistance – you name it, we need YOU! As an organization dedicated entirely to our athletes, we couldn’t do what we do without you. If you’re interested in being more than a “day of” volunteer, please complete our Class A Volunteer Form (fax form and copy of your ID to: (904) 241-5241) and online Protective Behaviors course. Both are needed in order to work directly with our athletes.

Read more about our Volunteer opportunities.  Every Class A Volunteer must also complete our General Orientation online course.  Every Special Olympics Florida coach must now complete an online concussion training. Please click here to begin.

How to Donate Directly to Duval

Our program is made possible through the generosity of individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations both local and across the nation. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of checks and money orders; or items such as water, food, transportation, office supplies, and shoes for our athletes.

If you would like to make a donation, please either contact us at (904) 307-4221 or mail it to:

Special Olympics Florida – Duval County
PO Box 350099
Jacksonville, FL 32235

Your generous donations are tax deductible. Thank you for your continued support.
