Did You Know

    • Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
    • We currently serve 693 athletes throughout Hillsborough County.
    • We offer 17 different sports
    • Our athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership Programs and Healthy Athletes initiatives.
    • We are fortunate to have 1,160 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year.

We are gearing up for our fall sports season and have many ways to get involved! If you would like to volunteer, become an athlete or sponsor our upcoming fundraising event, contact us for more information.

Our County Management Team meets the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at APLC.


Donate Directly to Hillsborough County

Our program is made possible through the generosity of local individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of cash or checks; or items such as water, food, transportation, office supplies, and equipment or shoes for our athletes.
