    • Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
    • We currently serve 798 athletes throughout Hillsborough County.
    • We offer 17 different sports
    • Our athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership Programs and Healthy Athletes initiatives.
    • We are fortunate to have 1,160 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year.

What’s Happening

Our County Management Team meets the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at APLC.

Congratulations William Corsi, Hillsborough County Athlete!  

In July 2015, William will participate with law enforcement officers from all over the world in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg of the Special Olympics World Summer Games.  The Final Leg will travel the breadth and length of California, bringing the Flame of Hope into the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as part of the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games.w.corsi final leg torch run 2

How to Donate Directly to Hillsborough County

Our program is made possible through the generosity of local individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of cash or checks; or items such as water, food, transportation, office supplies, and equipment or shoes for our athletes.
