  • Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • We currently serve over 300 athletes throughout Polk County.
  • We offer 7 different sports
  • Our athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership Programs and Healthy Athletes initiatives.
  • Over 125 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year.

In need of Volunteers!

Would you like to use your time, talent and skills to change lives?  Special Olympics Florida changes the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports. Our local program is in need of volunteers coach and serve on the management committee.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact us.

How to donate to Special Olympics Florida – Polk County

Our program is made possible through the generosity of individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations both local and across the nation. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of checks and money orders; or items such as water, food, transportation, and office supplies.  If you would like to make a donation, please either contact us.
