Our Sports

Each sports season lasts approximately 3-4 months with at least 8 weeks of training and three levels of competition: County, Area, and State Games. Follow the steps below to get signed up.

Step 1: Complete Special Olympics Florida Athlete Participation Forms.

Step 2: Review the sport offerings below (make sure to note the time of year the sport is played).

Step 3: Register for sport shown below (when online registration is active).

Step 4: Attend practice and have fun!

  • Basketball (November – February)
    Unified Team every Thursday, starting November 14, 6:00-8:00 pm
    Tacachale Center, 1621 NE Waldo Road
  • Bocce (January – May)
  • Bowling (August – December)
    Training:  Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m., August 13 through September 14
    Alley Gatorz, 2606 NE Waldo Road, Gainesville
  • Equestrian (December – March)
  • Flag Football (August – November)
    Wednesdays, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., starting August 28
    Flavet Field
  • Flag Football – Intramural
    Skills evaluations begin September 30, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
    Games every Monday starting October 7, 6:30 pm

    Training:  Fridays at 6:00 p.m., July 19 through August 30
