On Sunday, October 7, eating at any of the 152 participating Chipotle Mexican Grill Restaurants in Florida can support Special Olympics Florida — an organization dedicated to empowering those with intellectual disabilities through sports.
All day (10:45 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.), 33% of every fundraiser sale will go directly to Special Olympics Florida. To participate, enjoy lunch or dinner at any participating Chipotle, and before paying, tell the cashier about supporting Special Olympics Florida. Participants also can download the official fundraising flyer and bring it to the restaurant. Families, friends, local communities and Special Olympics athletes, coaches and volunteers are all encouraged to “get their guac on” this October 7 in support of the Chipotle fundraising event.
“We are grateful and honored that Chipotle Mexican Grill has created this opportunity to help support our worthy cause,” said Sherry Wheelock, President & CEO of Special Olympics Florida. “Special Olympics is the leading voice in raising awareness about the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities and we are proud to work with Chipotle to share our mission and boost community involvement.”
Area law enforcement and their friends and families are also taking part, as this fundraising event is in celebration of the 35th Anniversary of The Law Enforcement Torch Run. Every year, more than 360 different agencies traverse Florida in a relay of simultaneous routes throughout the state, covering countless miles as the Flame of Hope is carried and unites families, friends, volunteers, coaches and patrons together in celebration of sports and Special Olympic athletes.
