Did You Know

  • Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Our athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership and Healthy Athletes programs.
  • We currently offer 11 different sports.
  • We serve 2,143 athletes throughout Collier County.
  • 379 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year.

Recent Honors and Events

Two local athletes competed in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games.

Vivy Pantoja earned a bronze medal as a member of the Special Olympics Florida stand up paddle team, and Jill Walker placed 6th in singles and 4th in doubles as a member of the Special Olympics Florida bocce team. 



Special Olympics Florida – Collier County coach Kelly Stevenson-Crews has been
honored as Special Olympics North America Coach of the Year!




theinpaulWe’re excited to announce that Paul Thein, Executive Vice President of Advancement and Partnership at Community Health Partners of Southwest Florida, has joined the Special Olympics Florida Board of Directors! Paul is an enthusiastic supporter of our local Special Olympics program, and he’s a great asset to Special Olympics Florida. 



All Collier County Public Schools high schools and middle schools recently participated in the Unified Champion Schools (formerly Project UNIFY) Field Day events. The annual high school event was hosted by Naples High School, and the most recent middle school event was hosted by Pine Ridge Middle School.

How to Donate Directly to Special Olympics Florida – Collier County

Our program is made possible through the generosity of local individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of cash or checks; or items such as water, food, transportation, office supplies, and equipment or shoes for our athletes.
