For 19 years, the Patrick Solis Charity Golf Classic has been one of Special Olympics Florida – Collier County’s premiere annual fundraising events. This event is held in memory of Patrick Solis, an avid Special Olympics athlete who died of brain tumors at age 31 on September 11, 1999.
The tournament, sponsored by Stock Development and hosted by The Club at Olde Cypress, is a 4 person scramble with a shotgun start, and the event includes lunch, prizes for first and second place in each division, and special prizes for “Closest to Pin” and other contests.
A “Hole-in-One” contest will also give players the opportunity to take home a car.
P.B. Dye designed the 18-hole course at The Club at Olde Cypress, which includes three holes nestled in a nature preserve. The course design highlights the region’s bald cypress, pines and other native vegetation.
