Unified Champion Schools
Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools is an education-based project that uses sports and education programs to activate young people to develop school communities where all youth are agents of change – fostering respect, dignity and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities.
How Can You Get Involved?
- Start Project Unify at your elementary school, middle school, high school or college
- Participate in Unified Sports: Special Olympics Unified Sports® combines people with (traditional Special Olympics athletes) and without intellectual disabilities (called Partners) on sports teams for training and competition; dramatically increasing inclusion in the community and using sports to help break down barriers that have historically kept people apart.
- Take the pledge to end the R-word
Participating schools: Atlantic Coast High School, Ed White High School, Westside High School, Ribault High School, Lake Shore Middle School, Kernan Middle School, Palm Avenue Exceptional School, North Florida School of Special Education
