NOW OFFERING SOFTBALL IN MANDARIN
We are seeking athletes ages 8+ with an intellectual or developmental disability diagnosis to participate in our new softball program! We are also seeking Unified partners, assistant coaches and coaches. This program is completely free to athletes & their families. Athletes must have an active Special Olympics medical and official consent form to participate (Forms Here)
Interest Meeting & Skills Testing – Saturday, July 21 from 11a-1p
Weekly practices Wed, August 8 – Oct 24, 6:30-8:00pm
Burnett Park (Old St Augustine Rd & 295), 3740 Burnett Park Rd, 32257
We will play Slow Pitch softball (traditional or Unified depending on turnout) and offer an Individual Skills competition that includes base running, throwing, hitting & fielding stations. No experience necessary. Please wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring water & a glove, if you have one.
Competitions: Sept 15 (Atlantic Coast HS), Sept 29 (Stetson) & if selected, Nov 9-10 (ESPN)
Uniform: Special Olympics will supply a shirt for competitions. Athletes should wear black athletic shorts with no pockets to compete.
