Did You Know

  • Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Our athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership and  Healthy Athletes programs.
  • We currently offer 7 sports.
  • We serve 151 athletes throughout Monroe County.
  • Currently 69 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year.


  • SUP County Time Trials – Wed. June 20, 2018, 5:30 pm- 8 pm, Higgs Beach, Key West, Florida
  • Area 11 SUP Games– Saturday July 21, 2018- 8 am-2 pm, Founders Park Beach, Islamorada, Florida
  • Swimming County Games– Saturday, July 18, 2018, 10 am-1:00 pm, Ron Levey Aquatic Center, Founders Park, Islamorada, Florida 
  • Swimming Area 11 Games Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 -7 am-2 pm,  Ron Levey Aquatic Center, Founders Park Islamorada, Florida 
  • Community Bowling
    Starts August 4 at NAS Key West -Must have security clearance to attend.  Contact head.   coach Pat Hart, 305-304-6084. 
  • School Based Bowling
    Starts August 24 at Key West High and Gerald Adams School
    Athletes must have school field trip packets and medical packets completed and on file with athletic directors. 
  • Registration for Swimming, SUP, Unified Flag Football and Bowling is now open. Swimming and SUP will start in May, Unified Flag Football will start in August. (Note Bowling is for Key West area only)

Donate to Special Olympics Florida – Monroe County

Our program is made possible through the generosity of local individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of cash or checks or items such as water, food, transportation, office supplies, and equipment, uniforms or shoes for our athletes.
