Did You Know

  • Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Our athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership and  Healthy Athletes programs.
  • We currently offer 7 sports.
  • We serve 151 athletes throughout Monroe County.
  • Currently 69 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year.



  • Sports Registration is open for Summer Games Seasons. (Bocce, Cycle, Soccer, Athletics)
  • Bocce Season will start Jan. 12- Key West practices will be at the White Street Bocce Courts every Friday at 5:30 pm. All school teams will start after Jan. 8 at school locations.
  • Cycle Season will start Jan. 13- Key West practices will be every Saturday at 9:30 am at the Key West Dog Park Track. Upper Keys team practices TBD
  • Unified Soccer -will start Jan. 17, every Wed. at 5:30 pm – FKCC Goonies- at Jr. League Football Field in Key West, Marathon teams will practice Marathon City Field, Key Largo team will practice during school hours
  • Athletics Season for Unified Champion Schools will start Jan. 8, practices held during school hours.
  • Publix Torch Sale Campaign starts Jan. 4 and runs to Jan. 22– Stop into your local Publix to purchase a torch with Proctor and Gamble coupons. Funds will directly support our local teams. 

Donate to Special Olympics Florida – Monroe County

Our program is made possible through the generosity of local individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of cash or checks or items such as water, food, transportation, office supplies, and equipment, uniforms or shoes for our athletes.
