Did You Know

  • Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Our athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership and Healthy Athletes programs.
  • We currently offer 17 sports.
  • We serve 1,559 athletes throughout Pasco County.
  • 240 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year.

Upcoming Events and Shout Outs

  • Fall Sports Registration is underway! What will you compete in?
    • Powerlifting?  Softball?  Flag Football?  Cheerleading?  Bowling?
  • Rays Day is on Sunday, September 9th, 2018 at 1:10pm.  Cheer on the Rays with your fellow Special Olympics athletes. Tickets are free for athletes and can be purchased through Val Lundin
  • Congratulations to Anthony Salvati who competed in the USA Games in Seattle!
  • Congratulations to all our athletes who competed in summer county games for golf, swim and stand up paddle board.  Area and State games are coming soon!
    • Golf: Area Games on July 29th at Cove Cay, Clearwater
    • States on September 7-8th at Disney
    • Swimming: Area Games – August 11th Dunedin Highlander Park, Dunedin
    • States – October 5-7th Sebastian, FL
    • Stand up Paddle Board: States – August 25th in Sarasota, FL

Get Involved

Our own Pasco County Coach, Vicky King was chosen as one of Tampa Bay’s Top Coaches in History!  She’s among names like Tony Dungy, John Gruden and Jim Levitt and still inspiring athletes after more than 30 years of coaching.  Congrats Coach King!

Our program is made possible through the generosity of local individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of cash or checks or items such as water, food, transportation, office supplies, and equipment, uniforms or shoes for our athletes.
