Special Olympics Florida has partnered with the Florida
Elite Soccer Academy, creating the inaugural Special
Olympics Florida Unified Soccer League in St. Johns County. This groundbreaking league will consist
of four teams, each comprised of six athletes and four partners. The
Unified Soccer League is designed to provide an engaging and structured
platform for athletes and partners alike who are new to Special Olympics
Florida. Over the course of 9 weeks, participants will have the
opportunity to build connections and enhance their skills while
competing in a practice-play format throughout the season.
This program fosters inclusion and teamwork
among Special Olympics Florida athletes (ages 11-15 with intellectual disabilities or developmental delay) and Unified partners (ages 11-15 without an intellectual disability) through an engaging and structured unified soccer league.
