Taking the Plunge
The
first Polar Plunge of 2025 was a huge success! Our annual event kicked
off earlier this month at Aquatica Orlando, marking a milestone as the
fundraiser’s 15th anniversary.
More
than 400 participants came out to support our Special Olympics Florida
athletes and brave the (slightly) frigid waters. But the fun didn’t end
with the plunge! The event was complete with live music and even a
costume contest. This year’s costume theme invited participants to come
dressed as their favorite holiday.
The
Orlando plunge was hosted by WESH 2 anchors Jason Guy and Meredith
McDonough, a Special Olympics Florida Board Member, and Special Olympics
Florida Athlete Leader Stephen “Mr. Hollywood” Lepore.
Thank
you to everyone who joined us for this fun and meaningful event! All
funds raised from the Polar Plunge events help support more than 75,000
Special Olympics Florida athletes, providing them with year-round sports
training and competitions, crucial health services, and life-changing
leadership programs.
If
you missed the first plunge, don’t worry–– it’s not too late to get
involved! There will be a second plunge taking place in Tampa on March
15. You can register today. Sign up and be part of this amazing cause!
