Special Olympics Florida Invitational at Walt Disney World
Undaunted by a tropical storm, some 500 participants turned out in early November for a modified version of the Special Olympics Florida Invitational at Walt Disney World.
The 12th annual event took place at Topgolf Orlando, a last-minute venue change necessitated by the arrival of Tropical Storm Nicole. The rain did nothing to dampen the excitement, as golfers supporting our mission fanned out across three levels of Topgolf to test their skills.
The Invitational is Florida’s premier golf fundraiser, bringing together Disney cast members and corporate citizens from around the country to make a huge impact on the lives of our athletes. Over the years, it has raised millions, helping Special Olympics Florida provide year-round sports competition, crucial health services and life-changing leadership programs.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this year’s Invitational such a success. With the support of partners like Disney and sponsors like HPE, Service Now, and Accenture, we showed the Special Olympics Florida spirit is stronger than any tropical storm.
