“Yeah, I am Special”
Special Olympics Florida athlete Joshua Olds is one of the faces of a new Special Olympics national campaign designed to reclaim and redefine what it means to be special.
Josh, 17, is one of two athletes featured on billboards unveiled in New York City, as part of the “Yeah, I am Special” campaign. A champion triathlete from Broward County, he has already completed 17 triathlons and has countless swimming records under his belt. The second athlete highlighted in the campaign is Madi Madory, a powerlifter from Oklahoma.
The billboards are part of Special Olympics' larger “The Revolution Is Inclusion” campaign. “Yeah, I am Special” seeks to reclaim and reframe the meaning of “special” by highlighting the remarkable achievements of Special Olympics athletes. The effort will also feature an extended global digital campaign and new, themed merchandise.
