Camp Shriver Debuts in Collier County
Special Olympics Florida, the Community School of Naples, and the Naples Children & Education Foundation have launched the first-ever Camp Shriver in Collier County.
Camp Shriver is an inclusive camp that brings together young people with and without disabilities who participate in camp activities alongside one another. Created by Special Olympics Founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver in the 1960s, it’s where the Special Olympics movement began.
Camp
Shriver in Collier County is funded by the Naples Children &
Education Foundation and hosted by the Community School of Naples. The
camp runs Monday through Friday until July 1. Week One is for ages 8-15.
Week two hosts ages 16-22.
Special Olympics Florida also offers Camp Shriver in Miami-Dade and
Orange counties.
