2024 State Summer Games
Congratulations to the athletes and Unified partners who competed recently in the 2024 Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games. The annual event drew more than 2,300 participants and featured seven sports at two world-class venues.
Track and field, basketball, soccer, bocce, cycling, and cheerleading were held at the spectacular ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. Tennis was held at the beautiful USTA National Campus in Lake Nona.
The Games included a dazzling opening ceremony, complete with fireworks, the final leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, and appearances from Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. The weekend also featured two days of health screenings sponsored by Orlando Health.
Brightline provided a special treat for athletes coming from South Florida – transporting them to and from the Games on the company’s high-speed train. Thanks to all the sponsors, coaches and volunteers who helped create an unforgettable experience for our athletes.
Coming soon: State Summer Games photo albums will be available to view/download from our library by the end of May.
