Racing for Inclusion in Jacksonville
On September 14, we kicked off our annual Race for Inclusion race series, with the Race for Inclusion – Jacksonville, a 5K run/walk on the CSX campus in downtown Jacksonville.
The event was a huge success, drawing nearly 400 participants and raising over $85,000 to support Special Olympics Florida athletes!
The Race for Inclusion is a statewide initiative to help the athletes of Special Olympics Florida and build communities where people with intellectual disabilities are treated with respect and given the opportunities they deserve. The campaign culminates in the fall with a series of races and events around the state. The Race for Inclusion features a variety of sports, including running, walking, swimming, and even golfing.
Check out the Jacksonville recap from Action News Jax and First Coast Connect’s interview with athlete J.R. Lobinsky and Special Olympics Florida’s Northeast Director of Development Ashley Cetin.
