This Flop Was a Huge Success!
By Delanie Ross / Special Olympics Florida
Thank you to everyone who voted for Special Olympics Florida in the recent Jacksonville Jaguars-Tropical Smoothie Café Bellyflop challenge!
Tropical Smoothie partnered with the Jags and the Jaguars Foundation for Giving Tuesday to host the inaugural Belly Flop for a Cause. Tropical Smoothie and the Jaguars selected three nonprofit organizations, including Special Olympics Florida, to be the beneficiaries of a bellyflop competition at EverBank Stadium.
Members of the Jags staff were chosen to represent a nonprofit organization in the bellyflop competition. Our flopper was Thomas Flynn, the Jaguars’ Gameday and Live Event Producer. He was coached by former NFL star Marcus Pollard, the Jags’ Director of Player Engagement and Youth Football.
When the votes were counted, Team Flynn-Pollard had flopped its way to the top, earning Special Olympics Florida $25,000 to support our athletes and programs! We are incredibly grateful to everyone at the Jags and Tropical Smoothie Cafe for being part of our mission.
