Torch Run Makes its Way to Lake County

The Law Enforcement Torch Run season is in full swing, and, this week, about 100 runners came out to Special Olympics Florida’s Clermont office for the Lake County leg.

Law enforcement agencies from across the county were represented, and they joined with Special Olympics Florida athletes and staff members for the 5k walk and run. The support from Lake County law enforcement is crucial, because the number of Lake County athletes participating in Special Olympics Florida has grown by more than 50 percent in the last year.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is taking place throughout Florida counties and culminates at the opening ceremony of the State Summer Games in May.
