A Huge Thanks to BJ’s Wholesale Club
Delanie Ross / Special Olympics Florida
Thank you to BJ’s Wholesale Club for naming Special Olympics Florida a “40 for 40” grant recipient!
We are incredibly grateful to be selected as one of the company’s "40 for 40" recipients in celebration of its 40th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, BJ’s Charitable Foundation made $1 million in grants to charities focused on hunger relief, education, and health and wellness. BJ’s team members nominated organizations, and we were fortunate to be chosen to receive $50,000!
Special Olympics Florida was nominated by Tom Kyte, a dedicated volunteer softball coach and the father of athlete Thomas Kyte Jr. The father-son duo is featured in a terrific video BJ’s produced to highlight our mission. You can watch it here: BJ’s 40 for 40 Recipient: Special Olympics Florida.
Special Olympics Florida is “a big family and community that supports one another,” said Tom, an Optical Manager at BJ’s. It gives “special athletes with special abilities” the opportunity to “show off their talents.”
Thank you to BJ’s Wholesale Club for making a huge difference in our athletes' lives!
