Did You Know

  • Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Our athletes are also invited to participate in Athlete Leadership and Healthy Athletes programs.
  • We currently offer 15 sports.
  • We serve 1,658 athletes throughout Duval County.
  • 323 people from our community give their time to volunteer each year.

  • October 19 – Area 5 Bowling Competition at Batt Bowl, Bowl America Southside, and Bowl America Orange Park
  • October 20 – Fundraising Event:  Strikes for Special Olympics Florida – Duval County
  • November 15-16 – State Fall Classic, ESPN Wide World of Sports
  • November 23 – County Basketball Competition at Jax Sportsplex
  • December 6-7 – State Bowling Competition
  • December 14 – Area 5 Basketball Competition at Jax Sportsplex
  • February 29 – County Summer Games at Atlantic Coast High School
  • April 4 –  Area 5 Summer Games at Atlantic Coast High School

How to Donate Directly to Special Olympics Florida – Duval County

Our program is made possible through the generosity of local individuals, civic clubs, businesses and corporations. Our athletes participate in our program at no cost; therefore, without volunteers and donations, the program would not exist.

We accept donations in the form of cash or checks; or items such as water, food, transportation, office supplies, and equipment or shoes for our athletes.
